Happy New Year!!!

2016 has been quite a year filled with some good stuff and some pretty shit stuff.  But for Rocket Bobs at least, 2016 has been the best year so far!  We would like to send out a heartfelt thanks to all our friends & supporters who helped make it a record year. The next few promise to be even better!!! 🚀

We wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2017.  Now go drink excessive amounts of alcohol already....

Meanwhile somewhere in Scotland...

Rocket Bobs is taking a well earned break for a few days and are up in Scotland experiencing the culture 🚀.  It's freezing and blowing a hoolie outside but with a shelf full of beer and food who cares??

Merry Christmas / Seasons Greetings / Happy Holidays to you all (or whatever you celebrate).  See you on the other side :)

Nickel plating

We've just made the trip up north to get Gas'd Rat's frame back from the Nickel platers and WOW!!!  They have just done such a crazy good job as you can seen in the pic. This is really going to make the old Harley Shovelhead pop.

Now all we have to do is try and get the bike re-built in time for MotorBike Expo in Verona at the end of January!  I't going to be a busy new year.............

Mini HamCan AC from LC Fabrications

We recently got these Mini HamCan AC's in from LC Fabrications in the States, and I fitted one today onto my own bike. These things are so cool and such high quality! We love them so much we are going to stock them in our shop 🚀 so if you think you'd like one on your bike then get in touch.

Speed Weevil in the studio

These are some of the first studio pictures of Speed Weevil coming through and they look amazing! Big thanks to Custombike Magazine and Frank Luger who shot them.

This detailed shot shows how Speed Weevil's frame is held together: T45 tube onto 316 SS slugs pinned with two 6.0mm inconel pins and lockwired in place.......

and a lovely clean shot of the turbo....

How is that for one mind bending weld maze!

It's all making me feel a bit dizzy.......

Speed Weevil takes Best Engineering at CustomBike 2016!

The CustomBike Championship in Germany is always a great event and this year has turned out to be extra special as Speed Weevil won the prestigious award for Best Engineering YAYY!!.  We couldn't be happier :)))  Thanks to the organisers who work so hard to make it the show it is, and to Blue Miller again for making sure we actually had some pics to remember it with!

Cleaning up Speed Weevil for Custombike

We are headed for the Custombike show in Germany this weekend with Speed Weevil in tow. This is going to be the first European outing for the Weevil so we're excited to see what the peeps over the Channel think of it. If you're in the area or fancy a bit of a trip for the weekend then it really is a great show to visit;  it's huge! and it has lots of custom bikes to oggle over.  Add to that the beer, German Christmas market and Gluhwein and what's not to like?

Anyhooo, back to that cleaning... we really have to start building some bikes with a bit less shiny things on that need polished!

Gonna need a bigger shop...

We've been having a bit of a major tidy up and re-arrange since we got back from Las Vegas Bikefest and there's no two ways about it,, we're going to need a bigger shop!

New trophy 'cabinet' in the shop 😬

Yeah I know, we should really get our arses in gear and get on with some work but we are finding it a bit hard to get back into the swing of things after the highs of Las Vegas Bikefest.  Soooo instead we spent a 'productive' afternoon sorting out our new trophy cabinet chain 😁😁😁

We think it looks real pretty, especially at night time, but sadly I don't think the master builders championship bracelet from Artistry in Iron is going to show up too well here.  Although it would at least keep it out of reach of the clawing hands of Lisa who is determined to crack the jewels out of it and fashion a necklace for herself!

Big bastard TP powered 3 Finger Eddy

Here's a wee throwback to one of our earlier builds, 3 Finger Eddy featuring a 4130 frame and a big bastard TP engine.  This is one nasty son of a bitch to hang on to but we love it and our next build is also going to be powered by one of these mutha's.  More details to follow soon.....

Patrick's Belgian build

Just got these great pic's in from Patrick, based in Ieper (Belgium), who has been very busy in the garage and done a whole heap of stuff to this bike including his own paint and finishes.

His Dyna is seen here fitted with the extended +70mm version of our Voodoo Fender, 18” rear with 200 tyre, LePera seat, V&H exhaust and Patrick's own air filter cover, license holder & shortened front fender.

We really do love seeing pictures of what you guys are doing with Rocket Bobs parts so please keep them coming!  You can see more pictures of our customers creation in our Customer Rides gallery on the website.

Rocket Bobs Girder front end

A sexy (if you like that kinda thing!) little shot of the Rocket Bobs Girder front end seen here on our most recent bike build Speed Weevil. Streamline section 4130 aerotube, internally sprung in headstock with all linkages 316 Stainless.

This is something we've been developing in our heads for some time now and couldn't be happier with how it's turned out.

Paddock stand

It took a while but we have finally finished the paddock stand for Speed Weevil YAYY!!  I know, it doesn't look much but I think it's cute. It's been pretty busy as the workshop as usual but we had to get a proper stand done because of all the shows coming up.

Of course we should really be getting on with testing and whatnot for next years Bonneville record attempt........... AARRRGGGHHHHHH

The week that was - a wee taster

A taster of our week at Las Vegas Bikefest, Artistry in Iron 2016.

This video was made using a great wee phone app called Quik.  You just pick which photo's you want to use (it makes use of live photo's on the iphone which is a really useful feature) and it does all the work for you. Now that's my kind of app!

Pete finally has a friend...

Sadly our time in Vegas is drawing to a close.  We have had the best time EVER! and made some great new friends along the way including Steve Wheels pictured here with Pete.  Steve and the rest of the Bikefest organisers put on a great event and tolerated a very over-excited Pete admirably.
Although I think they may already be regretting inviting him back next year!
